- Slowly, applications are showing up which are PowerPC or PowerMac native. Many
- of the programs which run native on a PowerMac, also run on a regular Mac
- (now being called a 68k - representing the 680x0 Macs).Programs which run on both
- the PowerMac and 68k Macs are called Fat Binary or just Fat programs. But some
- programs which run on a PowerMac REQUIRE a PowerMac. These are the files that are
- in the PowerMac folder.
-
- The items being placed in this folder require a PowerMac to run, or are specific
- to a PowerMac - such as NativeChecker - a program which tells you what programs
- will run native.
-
- Fat programs, which will run on any Mac, but also native on a
- PowerMac have been placed along with other files in their respective
- folders on AMUG CD and AMUG CD2.
